Accurate diagnosis is an essential element of the role of the Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.  Arriving at an accurate diagnosis often requires ruling out other similar diagnoses or mental disorders with similar features.  This mobile app draws its content from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, one of the most important reference texts in the PMHNP's toolkit.  The app’s features, interface, and enhancements make it very user-friendly and easy to navigate.  Its inclusion of interactive diagnostic decision trees supports informed clinical decision-making at the point of care.  The app also provides quick, up-to-date access to ICD-9 CM and ICD-10-CM codes.

This resource relates to the NONPF's Nurse Practitioner Core Competency: Technology and Information Literacy by "integrating appropriate technologies for knowledge management to improve health care."  Additionally, it relates to the AACN's Essentials of Master's Nursing Education in that it "uses patient-care technologies to deliver and enhance care."
